FSD Interdictors sandbox (Galnet)

Hey everyone!

Did you see the news on Galnet in spaceports called "New FSD Interdictor Legal Debate"? If you didn't I invite you to read it. To summarize it talks about the debates throughout civilized galaxy about forbidding the selling of FSD interdictors in the Federation/Empire/Alliance. Each of those three factions seem to be debating on this subject.

Now, about this topic : what if we could influence this decision governments are making and make them decide to forbid interdictors. Developers say players have a real influence on the game ; What if we could make interdictors illegal in federation, empire or alliance?

Be aware that this post is not about whinning about interdictors. I personnally find them fun to use and to be victim of, but I have seen a lot of players complaining about it and maybe it could be a way for all of us to test the sandbox functionnality in Elite and to let talk the majority of player on this particular matter.

If we can think of a way to influence that decision, we may apply that in the game.

I have thought about diverse solutions to use as a leverage. I have classified those solutions in 2 categories.
The first category is "outside the game". This category should regroup all the solutions we may find to influence the game via outside channels (like the forum for example).
The second category is indeed "inside the game" and would regroup every action we may undertake in the game (like blockading a system for example).

- Inside the game :

- Attacking the corporations responsible for producing FSD interdictors.
- Boycotting all products sold by FSD interdictors producing corporations
- Gathering in a unique system (preferably owned by one of the above mentionned corporation) to show our engagment. I call this idea the space strike! :p

- Outside the game :

- Opening a vote on the forum where players can support or not FSD interdictors (it is a democratic way, so it should weight at least in the federation and the alliance)
- Boycotting the game? (lol I don't really feel like it :D)

I think it is a good idea. Being able to influence certain weapons or modules illegal, so you have to travel to an anarchy system to get them fitted.

Also, there seems to be missions indicating you can sway a system/faction to go independent or join the empire/federation.

actually that's what I was thinking. FSD would still be usable by players, the only difference is they would have search for specific systems where to buy them.

If players can influence that kind of stuff it could be really amazing and it could occur cool things in the future. But honestly I don't even know if it's possible
