fsd jump

Hi sometimes when I engage FSD a small icon appears in the cockpit display just above charging saying new entry
what does this mean

Perhaps it is the message telling you that you are jumping into a new galactic sector.

can you post a screenshot... otherwise yes, it might be due to jumping into a new sector.

My guess would be you found a "new codex entry" meaning a type of astronomical body you haven't seen before (in this galactic sector) but it is just guessing without a screenshot or more details.

... as I said - it is notifying you that you are entering a new galactic sector. It is "new" to you so you have the "codex" icon - well I assume that tiny blurry smudge is the codex icon.

If you zoom out enough in the galaxy map, you can see the edges of the galactic sectors. At that moment you'll be just right at a border line.
