FSS Question

Hi All,

Just came back from a 7500LY passenger mission. I know, I know, that may be a long way to me, but its trip to the chemist for the real explorer. The trip let me nail down my squence for entering a system with the new mechanics. On the whole I think I found about the same number of Earth Like/Water Worlds as I would have on the same journey using the old, familiar system. The one bit that is missing from the FSS is terraformable.

Under the old system somethin rockey or metal near or in the habital zone for the star class and spectrum would be a terraformable, where there was a water world or eath like frequently the next orbit slot would be terraformable. I think I missed a number of terraformable woulds on my journey, as I cannot see an bviousl way to use the FSS to locate them. It was ok in systems where other explorers had been, I could revert back to the old method with the system map. For brand new systems, well no way to determine terraformable.

I assume terraformable pays more than a normal rocky/high metal. If not then it is probably not worth worrying about. Has anyone found a method to detect these with the new exploration mechanics?

Thanks
Simon

Been asked for lots - it does show in the system map information for a body but not via the FSS view.

To be honest (and forgive me if I misremember) I thought you never got told if it was terraformable by the game in any other way.

BTW - Yes mapping a terraformable is worth a lot more in my (so far) limited experience of the new system.

I remember that I saw the text "Terraformable" in the FSS when I zoomed into the body. That was in beta, and it was not there all the time. Perhaps it is just a bug.

Fly/land safe.

Planets that are candidates for Terraforming...

They will show in the FSS the first time you find one for your Codex entry.
After that, they only show in the system map under the planet details.
