FSS scanner improvement

you get it wrong.. you scan system with fss and check evry signal and half of signals are fleet carriers, some may overlap planet/moon so you scan carrier instead of planet ..if you can ignore carrier signal you can continue scanning system without extra signals present.. lack of fss filter just brings you big headache

example i got problem triggering "system scan complete" with FSS because carriers obscuring one of planets. i scan for all time with FSS because its useful to go on distress calls (carrying fuel/repair limpets for these distress calls)...the system with hard to scan planet is taygeta...

we dont need to destroy carriers,if fdevs implement taking over abandoned carriers with little luck you could just capture those and either keep/pay the usage bills or just sell them for salvage for extra profit.

I'm not seeing a downside to this. Like asteroid clusters they aren't worth anything for explo data, and unlike USSs there is no gameplay (that I can think of) that makes hunting through them for the right one worthwhile in the FSS Scanner Screen.

Not really a common or high priority problem (asteroid clusters & their seemingly endless discovered notifications were), it would be a nice QoL update though.

Is there any reason to not be in favour of this?

@Danieros: well loss of star is not problem.you could eventually get into star-less ssytem by locating its planets... scanning rings is good because you never know if theres 6 LTD hotspots with massive overlap or other candy.. .

still have no idea why people even FSS scan systems with lots of FC ... surely the sysmap will be populated by one of them handing in that data? 🤔
To see What's there? Like guardian or other unique stuff. Still get paid for it...

On topic:...
Yea fleet carrier could be revealed on "honk" they should have transponders? Right?

I’d happily see a filter that gets rid of them from your hud display too. “Ooh, a USS. Oh, nope...just another Carrier.”

....but then I’d like Old Duck’s ‘get rid of everything jobbie‘ just with filters for turning stuff on and off as desired.

Looking for HGE's maybe?
If they're in an inhabited system then the nav beacon is faster. If it's not an inhabited system then ... No HGE

Just look at the bodies where the FC are at in the sysmap and it will show everything. Not that I've seen enough FC in a guardian system to be an issue.

Still looking for a good reason :D

Honestly you really Haven't got a good argument for not scanning the system with the fss. So no not I'm playing fetch.
