FSS Signals Question and Notable Stellar Phenomena

Been using the FSS since day one and have used it 1000's of times now (hard core explorer), but I don't know if I'm just not seeing a Notable Stellar Phenomena when I have a ton of new unmapped planets in an unmapped system and then just notice them at the end, or if some only appear if you FSS a planet that they orbit around?

I have discovered a number of Notable Stellar Phenomena when the new ED version came live, but it's been quite awhile since discovering any new ones, but I do recall seeing many of them right away when first going in the FSS in a unmapped system.

However, my last one I found, I don't recall ever seeing it when I first entered the FSS and only noticed it after I scanned everything else. Now maybe I missed it as there were a lot of lower freq MR's, HMC's and Asteroid belts among other planets, but am unsure.

So anyone verify if some of the Notable Stellar Phenomena signals only appear after a specific planet is FSS'd?

Hi there!

I recently found some at two locations, and they appeared right after I send the pulse in FSS (so no need to scan planets first etc). I got them right after opening FSS and pressing X (I'm in PS4) to send the pulse to discover all the objects in the system.

NSP's are rare outside of Inner Orion Spur, the further 'into the black' you go it would appear the less chance of finding them. If you read the NSP related threads it may help you decide where the liklihood of finding them may be.
But when you do run into previously undiscovered ones, it's great!

See I found and tagged a bunch in Sagittarius Carina Arm and also some in the Scutum - Centraurus Arm and one good one in the Empyrean Straits. In fact the Sagittarius Carina Arm had the most I had seen to date, that was also where I was when the release came out and it also happens to be the area of the galaxy that was the least visited according at least to EDDiscoveries which I think is based more upon those registered with EDSM.

Last one I discovered (The Stolon Tree, not pods) was I think back in Jan or Feb. So it's been quite awhile since I've seen new ones and can't recall now if they just showed up as soon as I honked the system and entered the FSS or if I actually had to DSS a planet to find a few of them. Lagrange clouds and such I know were right there, but the Void Hearts and Stolon Trees I can't recall if they showed up right away or I had to scan the planet first before they showed up in the FSS?

I've only found a single NSP in planetary rings and I think it showed up on the honk - but it was in December so my memory may be at fault. Didn't pass through any in the Empyrean Straits, so you have had better luck than me

Thanks. The main reason I'm asking is I'm on DW2 and really just screwing around just hitting the waypoints and then taking off exploring until the next waypoint (Hey I'm getting close to that 2.5 million LY badge from EDSM ).

Figure I'd try and find some more NSP while I'm doing it, but don't want to scan every planet in every new system to find them. Just thought with my lack of finding anything that maybe it's because I'm not scanning every planet, but as you said, it could be just the sectors I'm in and possibly there just isn't any there period...
