Fuel economy - an interesting observation

Heading back from deep space. Back to Achenar.

Logged in after the update and went to calculate my route. I forgot to specify fastest route. I know that economical is.. you know.. economical but I didn't know how much difference it made.

My explorer Asp can cover ~900Ly refuelling in economical mode (on HALF A TANK!) on fastest it covers ~110 (also half a tank)

I think I may take the slow road home.

Sure, if you're willing to do all those jumps. I did a 170 LY plot last night, and the difference between the two was HUGE! Was looking at 25+ jumps as opposed to 8. I didn't have enough fuel to make it to destination initially, so I started in economy mode to reduce the distance, then went to fastest mode to finish the route with the fuel I had. Thankfully, a full tank of gas in an ASP is only 11,000 cr.
