Newcomer / Intro Fuel meter in the ship?

Hi!

I'm new to Elite dangerous, and got bugged out so brutally today. I had gone a few systems and searched for rebel transmissions, got them in my cargo and went back to the station where i got the assignment. "Yes! Now I'm going to cash in 11k in credits! Enough for another mining laser!".

They refused to dock me 3 times, my fuel ran out and i exploded in space. me right?

Then I searched like crazy to find anywhere in the ship, where I could check the fuel during flights, and not in station. Couldn't find it anywhere.

I thought it was strange...

Here I am, flying a spaceship in a far distant future, with gadgets that lets me detect a grain from a few km:s distance, that has weaponry of high energy beams and can travel by the speed of light, and the *Gremlins* didn't install a fuel meter so you can see how much fuel you've got left???

I mean... COME ON!

Lower right of the screen is the current fuel resevoir for thrusters (the very narrow horizontal line). Just below that is a thicker horizontal line that displays your main jump drive fuel tank capacity.
I hope this helps you out a bit =)

Bottom right of your normal screen there is a fuel meter which has 2 bars, the thicker bar underneath is main tank the thin bar above is for in system flight, it will refill from main tank when empty. Just above that is a usage rate although I have no idea how that is worked out and seems to change almost at random.

Edit: Ninja'd dammit

The fuel meter is on the right hand side of the "dashboard".
It's a horizontal line with the word FUEL and a number showing how fast you are using it.

Geoff.

You can see the fuel meter on the right side.
There are 2 bars Top one one is the reservoir.
And the other is you "normal" fuel tank.

If you target a other system you should see blue bars on it indicating how much fuel is used for the jump.

The reservoir will use a bit of the normal fuel tank when it runs out.

So a good item to get if you do a lot of travel will be a fuel scoop.
As long as you keep your normal tank full you will never run out of fuel.

Also, when you select a system to hyperspace to, the section of the main tank (thick bar) highlighted in blue is how much fuel will be used for that jump.

EDIT: hitkill1 beat me to it

Thank you guys!

I was looking for the sidewinder manual earlier, pre-post to see if I could find where the fuel meter is in there, but got a 404 error message of the link.

Thought it seem a little odd to have a space ship without a fuel meter =)

Thanks!

The number above the fuel guage is the amount of fuel used per hour. Say it is 0.86/h, this means you are using 0.86 tons of fuel per hour.
