Ive been playin since launch and just got into an Orca, downgraded from python. And I started thinking of fuel cost again. How come in my 16t orca, a full tank costs around 9k but less tan half of a 32t python was like 40k? That makes no sense!

that's because the Orca uses regular while the Python uses premium 
by the way, if you think fuel for the python is expensive wait until you get into a type 9, then you'll find out what expensive is!
