Fuel rats please! And bring some grease! OR: How I saved the universe.

So ...

Yes.
It is exactly as how it looks.
Don't ask!

And I really meant do do this!
I mean ... come on, who would be so stupid and stuck his own space ship into an alien structure by clumsiness?

After all ... this ocellus in the middle is most likely an airlock. Something will come out of this airlock and it will be nasty.
Not any more, my dear fellow commanders, not any more! This exit is firmly plugged!
I saved us all!!!

Just ... if it doesn't bother you too much ... can somebody please pick me up for a ride home?
Or at least leave some crackers? My food is getting a little bit sparse already.

When you get hungry enough, log out and then back into non-horizons and you should be free of the "Sphincter of Doom!" hehe.

Joking aside, I think you just saved anyone who ever gets stuck on a building or object on a planet in their srv lol.

Unlikely in an Asp, but do you have an ai crew member? Just get in an SRV and drive off if you have one of those too, then hope the ai can figure out a way to get unstuck and follow you.

Good advice, cmdr Alderius (and all the "helpfull" other comments :p)! As I used this trick under different circumstances already, I was almost ready to repeat it here. However, it would have been necessary to find the coordinates again - a somehow lengthy enterprise.
Fortunately, a simple log out/log in freed me from the embarrassing squeeze and I could slowly retreat (backwards) out of this misery. :D

Anyway ... I ventured into the facility and I have to say: FDev, you surpassed yourself here!
Playing in VR, this was one of my most striking gaming experiences ever! So beautiful! So ... very alien!

I started with one of the inactive bases and was already enchanted. Those poor scavengers, wandering aimlessly around, without any duty (I did understand this only later, when I had visited the active base). These weird structures!

But then, the acticve base (more lively in color than the "dead" ones ... do I need the quotation marks at all? I think, the structures themselves are indeed alive!)
Entering the strange dungeon, exploring it, seeing the scavengers executing their duties, probably aeons after their masters left.

And all this while BEING THERE wearing the Rift.
So awesome! Thank you, FDev! :)

(Spoilers for those not wanting to know anything before seeing it with their own eyes.)
