fuel scoop draining fuel

ok, after several solo over long trips, I had a question: if a fuel scoop can easily collect fuel for a ship, then why shouldn't it do the opposite operation to get rid of the amount you don't need? It is suggested to build a slider into the properties of the module, which would regulate how much it is necessary to replenish / dump fuel outside the station in open space. I think it would be quite a logical and convenient feature for those who like to get the most out of a frame-shifting drive.

Don't see how that follows, a fuel scoop uses magnetic fields to channel the charged super heated particles of the star photosphere into the ship fuel intake, you can't do that in reverse because once in the tank it's cooled down and a liquid, not a diffuse and superheated gas!

Got nothing against a fuel dump ability, but not using the fuel scoop.

First of all, a premise, just in case you're not aware of it: you can use railguns and plasma accelerators with the plasma slug experimental effect applied to them through engineering to dump fuel.
It can be painfully slow, but at the same time works well as a fine tuning tool.

Introducing a dedicated and faster fuel dumping mechanics? Yes please.
I don't think the fuel scoop would be the way of doing it, because it's not a simple reversible mechanism but there could still be an additional control added to the main fuel tank, instead.
Just not the fuel scoop.

Just add it under ship functions in the right side panel, or maybe inventory? (since that's where cargo dump is?)

Simple jettison 1/4,1/2 or 3/4 of current fuel reserve.

Though it would be good for all the subsequent 'I just jettisoned all my fuel and need rescue!' posts.
To be honest, I would LOVE to see that.

I have come to the (obvious) conclusion that 90% of the complaints of the forums are from people blaming the game for their own shortcomings.

Not just ED, every game.
