I found my fuel scooping data! It's from a few years ago (I thought I posted it here at the time but I can't find a reference to it on the forums), but I don't think anything's really changed in the game since then on this front. It's a bit rough but this shows the temperature at the point where you start to fuel scoop around a star (which is also where your heat starts to rise). I wanted to see if the temperature was the same wherever you started to scoop from.
As you can see, the (blackbody) temperature at which you start scooping (the T at scoop distance column) is much higher for the brighter (bluer) stars. So technically your heat shouldn't really rise at all when you start scooping from the cool M V stars, but the heat rise and fuel scooping seem to start at a fixed ratio of the radius from the star (around 1.7 or 1.8 radii) rather than having anything to do with actual heat levels at that point.
