It's not always working when trying to scoop orange stars.....you fly up close and it just does not scoop, you have to exit system and re enter to make it work again. Happens quite often but not too often. But something to address.

You may find that the orange star is a T type which is unscoopable. You can only scoop F,O,G,K,B,A,M type stars. Never had any issue with fuel scoop ever.

Like whiterose said, it's not the color, but type of the star that matters while fuel scooping.

And I never had any trouble with it as well.

Again, i exited and entered same star and it scooped, but not the first time entered. Im not saying the type of star is the issue.

Raise a bug report, cite the system/s and let Fdev review.

Edit: I've never had a problem with fuel scooping, it always works, or not, correctly.

Of all the things I've had an issue with in ED this isn't one of them. I have a fuel scoop on every one of my ships and fuel scoop every jump and never had an issue. Perhaps you should create a bug report if you're sure you're seeing a bug and it's not just the star type?

T Tauri or TTS(T Tauri Star). Those are usually white or orange indeed.
Loosely speaking, L,T,Y are "brown dwarves"


My fuel soop always worked on the OBAFGKM stars, never had any issue there, and i did quite a few scooping so far.

Apologies, didnt read you post properly, I was pre-empting the issue. I have never had an issue with fuel scooping, neither have a lot of others, so you may have a very specific issue. I would raise a bug report. Document how often it happens, and with which type of stars and in which systems so others can see if it as issue.

Maybe it was a T·Tauri Star that just completed its transition to K star while you were re-entering the system :)
