Fuel scooping. Some learn it the hard way

Bought one. The game does not indicate anywhere that only certain stars are scoopable. Of course I learn this while surrounded by useless stars. This should be in the tool tips. A little effort would go along way to prevening new people from learning this the hard, expensive, frustrating way.

Heres a tip I just learned the other day after months of playing...you do not need to be moving to scoop...find the right combo between fuel intake and temp and shut your throttle down and sit there until full....
I cant believe it took this long for me to figure this out...lol

White Dwarf stars, as far as I can tell, can't be scooped. Their emergency disengage barrier is so high up that it's impossible to get in close enough to scoop fuel from them.

Correction, you still need to be in SC but at minimal 30 Km/S.

FOG KABAM. Always remember this mnemonic.

You cant scoop from degenerate stars because they are no longer fusing Hydrogen so have no fuel to scoop. By degenerate I mean White Dwarf and Neutron Stars. If you try scooping from a black hole - well ... see you in another dimension.

If you are getting low, switch to realistic view on the galmap and check where you are jumping next. The info tab tells you if its a FOG KABAM star so you can scoop there. If it isn't, find one nearby.

You should never run out of fuel with this in mind. Never get lower than a 33% tank.

You don't have to remember anything. Go to the galaxy map and filter by star type. Hide everything below and including L class. Done.

What's even more annoying is how utterly confusing bulkheads are. Nobody ALIVE seems to know, or care, about how much resistance different bulkheads offer. For instance, who the hell has any clue as to whether military composite plating is even useful enough to offset the huge weight penalty? Nobody. Nobody has any clue whether they're making a sensible investment, or whether they're wasting money on something that's quite possibly almost worthless in combat. Throw in the fact that they're often more expensive than ships themselves, and... well, you know.

"Hurr, this armor provides more protection than what you currently have."

How much more?

5% versus class 1 multicannons? 10% versus class 2 pulse lasers? 15% versus class 3 fragmentation cannons?

Why isn't there more information in the outfitting screen? What possible reason could there be for withholding this kind of information? It's the year 3301, and a station peddling armor plating can't even give me a rough idea as to how much extra protection I'm getting? Is this a simulator or a glorified guessing game, for Christ's sake?
