Fuel use while offline?

So... maybe a little late to ask, but.... does a ship not docked at a station use its fuel when you've logged out? (Stop here if tl;dr)

I was bored and decided to take off, straight up from the system I was in. Went up until I could go no higher. 700+ly on a whim.

Now, I've read posts or info about not logging out in space as the bgs doesn't stop; I didn't want to get smashed by an orbiting object (not like as I'll probably be off for a day-ish, but I didn't want to risk it). I land on a planet to avoid rebuy. Then the though occurs to me about fuel consumption. Will I run out of fuel when I'm offline?

I'd think not, knowing how fuel rats work... but you never know.

When you're offline/logged off, you're removed from the simulation. No fuel use. And you cannot die. Your ship will be in the same state it was in when you last logged off

Thanks!

That is what I thought, but it's my first time ever parking in the middle of nowhere; so I figured I'd ask the experts.

Also you won't run out of oxygen if your life support is failing. It'll start ticking down again as soon as you start the game back up though.
