I think I understand the fuel consumption, but I'm not exactly sure. Does only hyperspace and super cruise effect it? Also I noticed that there are two fuel indicators, one was the main one I believe, and the other was reserve fuel? Does it switch between the two for different situations? Sorry I was only able to play for a few minutes!

The top bar is used by regular and supercruise flight. Regular uses about half as much, based on the per/sec indicator. The bigger bar on the bottom, the reserve, is used up by hyperspace jumps.
