Full shield but taking damage !!

I was in a high intensity conflict zone yesterday and I took hull damage twice (different sessions) while I was at more than 66% shield(two blue rings! At a time, I was at 100% and I could see sparks on the dashboard!
The first time I took 12% damage and the second 8%.

I wouldnt complain but this damage cost me 300k !!! I killed 40 ships and the bonds still didnt make up for my damage!

I fly a Python with 6B shields!

Did anyone had the same experience, or was it a one time bug ??

FD really needs to reduce the insane costs of repairs. Oh, and standardize fuel costs, too. (Why is it 100+k to fill Pythons 32T tank, but a fraction of that to fill 32T Asp tank?)
 
Did you get repeated overheat warnings ?

IMHO overheating from Weapons, coupled with i.e. Cell bank recharges and Afterburner usage could easily lead to that in the heat (pun intended) of the battle...

At a time I was shooting an Anaconda from the top and he was shooting back at me. I could see the fragment canon causing me damage!
Yet, you made a good point. I was shooting with class 3 gimballed lasers and those overheat quite often.... I did not check my temp status while this happened! I will be more careful tonight....if the zone is still active!

With my ASP, I was making profit and having fun at the same time. Now with the Python I have MUCH more fun, but then I need to run a couple of trade routes to make up for the damage.....

And I keep ignoring small targets unless there are no big ships around!

railguns can damage throught the shield i think.....might explain

also the fuel cost should be all lined up regardless of the ship, this is currently the worst design in the game history
 
Hm, for all I know V1.2 will ship with reduced hull repair costs.
How much lower they'll be - no idea, however.

At least it was their intention to re-balance it and encourage remaining in battle rather than having to run off as soon as your Shields drop even once.
In the Wings Beta, hull and module repair cost are now so low that they are ignorable. This may well get further balancing, but they are currently very, very low.

Wear & Tear/integrity/whatever it is called, is still horrific. I'm down just 5% to 95% integrity in my Asp and the cost to repair that is nearly 200K. Will be cheaper to let it get to zero, sell all my modules, buy a new Asp then buy all the modules back.

That was probably it.... I was really careful with the heat yesterday and no damage occured after 5 zone runs! 500K bonds in a little over an hour!

I'd like to see all such stats standardised.

Fuel fill price based on capacity, fuel use based on mass, top speed/manoeuvrability based on mass vs thrusters...
