Fun little adventure!

I just wanted to share a small story about how the game still manages to surprise me.

I'm a typical reddit/forums player and like to search out all the fun things in external sources to make sure I'm experiencing everything that is hidden and cool in the game. I'm a roleplayer, but I'm just pretending this are news my pilot gets from his contacts/datanets on stations, whatever.

I was just doing the well paying passenger missions and some material gathering for some days and felt a change of activity is in order if I not wanted to get burned out. And exactly then I received a mysterious Tip Off massage. I knew some basic things about them, but no specifics. So, up to Google! Well, nice, it seemed some CMDRS were writing the missions are just short pick up jobs, others that they lost their battle fit G5 modded Anacondas to it and it was insanely difficult, some people said it was bugged, others that it worked fine and was part of a chain. Wow, mystery, woohoo!

So I've fetched my battle fitted, heavy modded Federal Dropship with some general utility modules and began the 200ly+ journey to the other side of the bubble. The destination was an interesting system with a single gigantic landable planet. Nice scenery! The coordinates were a static outpost on the surface, which was nice, I didn't have to do tedious coordinates searching.

Wow. I did surface bases before for the G5 data grind but this really was A LOT of defenses. There I was driving back and forth the perimeter, planning an optimal angle of approach, observing the patrol patterns of the guards... And then I was ready to risk it! I managed to rush in and fetch some data from one data point one second before being totally obliterated by concentrated fire! Yay. It looked like it was a data package worth around 980k, nice. Well it wasn't a fortune but I haven't seen them as valuable as this before. Wish they were more activities that let you get a bigger income from selling data. Ok, but was this all? Where is the chain? I've fired up Google... The only thing I was able to find was a video done by some Russians doing a coordinated attack on the base... It took them like >1 hour and the video stopped like half-in-between without really showing what they've managed to achieve... I had no idea, what they were saying. Ok, mystery continues! I've flown back and met another CMDR that was just about to get his ship blown up to the outpost defenses, he also watched the crazy Russians before and had no idea what to search for! We did some tries, lost some SRVs but didn't manage to figure it out. Ok, I guess, I only lost some SRVs, but got some money, made a new friend and had some fun with actually using my brain cells in a video game. Good enough, but I will come back! Someday!.

The other thing I've got from the adventure was a 5 day high bounty with the local faction that was running the base. But it was local. I just figured I just fly back to my home system hundreds of star systems away and should be safe from the revenge seeking locals! I've forgotten about the whole adventure and came back to passengers/material hunting. One day later I just won an interdiction against a pirate that was trying to kill a general transported by me, when I got interdicted immediately again! What the... I was expecting another vulture or Viper, maybe some Fer-De-Lance. Nope! The NPC said he's there for the bounty! I've checked the ship, deadly Anaconda. So they haven't forgot about me!

Now I'm hunted. The guy in the Anaconda was stalking me for hours but and new different hunters also start to show up. There is a price on my head, because some shady organization from the other side of the bubble wants me dead for stealing their stuff from just under their noses. Han Solo or Mal Reynolds right there for you!

Well. I know it's not much. But it's all kinds of fun! Thanks Frontier.

I just went back from Conflux. It's a long trip but man... that some scary shiet out there, same as Formidine Rift. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe (yeap Blade Runner). If you looking for mystery and do not afraid of long trips check Formidine Rift, Conflux and Howking's Gap. They are out there for some time. Each outpost will give you like 8-9 mil Cr (each) data + exploration data so nice cash.
