Funny NON VR Experience ... 2D issues

Hi All,
I have been playing ED in VR for months and months, but this weekend a friend came over and wanted to see ED. I did not have the VR plugged in so I jumped in and set it to run in 4k on my 65" screen (which is how I used to play).

Flying the Conda for the first time in 2D was strange. Sitting on the PAD, I felt weird and 'distanced' from my ship (like I was stuck in some kind or third camera mode). It was a strange feeling.

Then I had issues with judging some distances. I did the worst exit when my conda was going though the slot, I bumped into an asteroid that I thought was further away when I was in the rings. I could not fight off an NPC ship for nuts and had to run.

But the funniest was that several times when I wanted to look at the panels I would momentarily turn my head left or right.

I cracked up laughing as it felt alien to me even though I had played it that way 2 years prior.

[where is it]

As soon as I went back into VR, I was back inside my ship and I felt comfortable again.

Yup, thats what VR does with you... Combat without free head movement is a pain... And flying through the mail slot... And feeling the speed when boosting close to surfaces or objects... I dont enjoy playing outside VR that much anymore... It feels incomplete.
