Furthest Signal Source?

I'm wondering what's the furthest out anyone has had a USS, WSS or SSS spawn?

I had a WSS this morning that was 655ly from Sol, containing a destroyed ship and some Rare Artwork. I've seen NPCs out around 500ly but never much further. I had a quick look at the UC Records Book but that doesn't seem concerned with one-off "game" events, only things that are a permanent part of the background simulation.

Has anyone had a Signal Source spawn further out than 655ly? I'd expect them to push outward as the density of player-tagged systems increases on the frontier, as a reflection of increased NPC activity following player activity. But I don't know whether that sort of thing is handled by the background simulation or if FD have to wade in and tweak things every so often.

I believe NPC's are limited to less than 600ly from the edge of occupied space.
I would assume that applies to USS's and so-on as well.

I've encountered a couple of weak signal sources about 1200 Ly from Sol. Other one was empty, other had a shipwreck and a couple canisters of Biowaste.

Saw a few near the Coalsack Nebula and Witch head Nebula, am near the core now and haven't seen a signal or NPC for well over a week

Wow. I guess they go where the players go. I suppose that sort of makes sense in lore, insomuch as if we're out there exploring then so are NPC explorers, occasionally suffering a sad fate. Makes you wonder why they feel the need to take rare art with them though, let alone biowaste. Unless those canisters were originally escape pods and they, too, malfunctioned.

Yeah I found rare artwork 2000 ly out from the edge of inhabited space. Now thats what I call rare :D
Where were they taking it? And what destroyed their ship but left priceless artefacts floating in the void? Is there some grand conspiracy to keep the Old Ones away from occupied space by appeasing them with graven images and human sacrifices (biowaste)? Inquiring minds need to know.
