Future Anniversary Animals

The future of Planet Zoo is sceptical at best, but one thing we anticipate annually every November is "What is the Anniversary Animal(s) going to be?" Well I think if this year will be the last, there are 5 particular animals I can see coming, if we were to get all 3 for the final anniversary of Planet Zoo, it would be the greatest gift for the game of all.

They may all be from Africa, one can be found in the Middle-East and one is from Asia, but they are nonetheless essential for many African and Asian sections in our zoos and are iconic worldwide just by their names alone.

The King Cobra

The Dromedary Camel or Nile Crocodile

The Eastern Black Rhinoceros

and the African Leopard

These three animals would make for a perfect 4 year anniversary mini update, and it would complement many scenery pieces, but also complete the iconic Big 5 of Africa, with the Leopard and Black Rhinoceros being the missing 2 out of the 5, the others being Elephant, Lion and Buffalo. The King Cobra, Dromedary Camel and Black Rhino already have scenery in the base game, so it only makes sense that they would be available. The Leopard should however get its own signs. The Nile Crocodile is another iconic species that should be in the game as it is the most widespread crocodilian in captivity.

If this anniversary gift could happen, even if we could get all 5 of these fantastic animals, it would be even better, but we should have these animals whether they are interchangeable or not, they should be in Planet Zoo.

Not bad.

I'd say the dromedary is the best, for the reason that we have so many pieces resolved around it.

Black rhino is a solid choice, especially for the sign.

King cobra is great for 2 reasons: cobra statue and Cobra Engine🤪.

Nile croc and African leopard, I don't think they would be great choices, in my opinion. I think that 2 better choices would be the American black bear and the black howler monkey

Another idea could be the Musk Ox, it could be the only base game Arctic animal, and it would be a solid inclusion, you could say headstrong

I would personally hope one of those would be an American Flamingo. Another bird and another South America representative is something we need both of. Let alone we dont have any bird from SA just yet. 🦩

We have two anniversary animals so far and both are very different...

The Black-and-White Ruffed Lemur is essentially a reskin of the already in game Red Ruffed Lemur...

...While the Red Deer fills a new niche, being the sole deer in the base game... After we had received three as DLC.

As to what to look for in the next anniversary animal? (If we get one at all!) Who knows!! In the buildup before we got the red deer everyone was expecting something not too demanded and similar to something in base game but instead we got an extremely iconic animal unlike anything else in the base game!!

Maybe this year will give us something completely new to Planet Zoo? Who knows at this point...

I’m going for the European Bison. We only have two base game animals that are primarily European, and I think the European Bison or Wisent would be a great inclusion in a zoo game. It is a conservation success story, as well as popular in many different zoos. It fills a different niche to the American Bison, while still not being a hugely unique animal that it could be a selling point for a DLC pack.
The European Bison is in my top three most wanted animals for this year, so I’d love to see it included!

I noticed that the two Anniversary's Animals are a kind of redesign of another old animals, so I think the next Animal will take the same way

My guesses:
  • Dromedary Camel (Bactrian Camel's model)
  • American Black Bear (Formosan Black Bear's model)
  • Wisent (American Bison's model)
  • Black Rhinoceros (White Rhinoceros' model)
  • Massai Giraffe (Reticulated Giraffe's model)

My guesses:

  • Grèvy's Zebra (Plains Zebra model)
  • Somali Wild Donkey (Plains Zebra model)
  • Wisent (American Bison's model)
  • Black Rhinoceros (White Rhinoceros' model)
  • West African Giraffe (Reticulated Giraffe's model)
  • Roseate Spoonbill (Greater Flamingo model)
  • Black-footed Ferret (Black-tailed Prairie Dog model)
  • Dama Gazelle (Thomson's Gazelle model

Dromedary or Black Rhino due to scenery/props/signs relating to them.

Cobra and/or Chameleon exhibit animals that IMO are needed.

Another Lion, Zebra, Giraffe, Gorilla, Chimpanzee or Orangutan. I bring these up as they are absolute staples of zoo games, and we do have seconds of the other staples - Elephants, Tigers, Rhinos and Hippos (or at least what I consider the staples, along with the Giant Panda that doesn't really have a second option). I know choices are limited in some cases...just for variety's take.

The bonobo is the alternative to the chimpanzee

To be honest, I figure that it'd be helpful to know what upcoming DLCs we will get before making any conclusions. Therefore, we can just use the process of elimination to figure out which niches have not been filled.
