Future Cockpit "enhancements" idea

I have a crazy idea for cockpit enhancements.

Now, Elite is about you being the lone merc/bandit/bounty hunter etc.

What is it that I would do in my cockpit if I were a merc living by my wits in space? I'd do up my cockpit of course!

So we already have threads on Cockpit HUD colour schemes so I'll skip that. Next - how about "pinup posters"? I know some guys will have posters of naked ladies, but this game being PG and all that, how about PG-rated posters? Swimsuit gals, sports posters, propaganda posters from Feds and Empire etc?

I just think the cockpit looks too..... "sleek". I know I'd soon plaster posters all over my cockpit if I could get some :p

And, if these posters were sold via the online store, I wouldn't mind one bit at all :)

Propaganda posters sounds like a good idea. I guess we can't have anything promoting Liquors either, so maybe last year's Miss Imperial World, in a Space Suit or something. ;)

David Braben has already stated they are excited about customizing ship interiors so they'll work on it.

Posters, not so sure about but no objection here - just be sure if pinups are available that both sexes are represented - unless they are Thargoid of course, which are all female.

I was just thinking about this again...

Wouldn't it be cool if FD would allow "user-created content"? I mean, take the posters for example. Instead of posters being created only by FD, how about letting users submit their designs (can be done with ship skins too)?

FD may, or may not, want to vet the designs before letting it be put up for sale in the store, and then they get a percentage of the sale price asked by the creator.

Could lead to a thriving economy of sorts out of game :D

So, the thing FD needs to do is put out templates for us to use when creating the said skins/posters/whatever. And of course, having personnel to vet the designs before posting them up, rather than having an in-house team to create these things.

We'd probably see a lot more creative content to customise your ship...
