A lot of people are posting about continental DLC and whatnot. Based on what's not in the game I think we can discern a few potential inclusions.
Australia seems to be the most conspicuous absence, yes, but I don't know if DLC based on the continents is what will happen. I mean, we're missing a few primates that were found in the data mining (I believe there was a howler monkey and a gibbon, so we might get a Primate DLC, and the much-loved and obvious African rhinos aren't there either. We're also missing the meerkat, which seems weird to me. I know there are logistical issues around an animal that small but still.
I'd love a marine DLC. I'm not talking about dolphins and sharks and whatnot, but seals and sea lions, penguins, maybe sea otters, these aren't uncommon features in zoos. Buff it up with a few aquariums and a seaside theme and you've got something pretty special. Could even do an all-rounder "aquatic" DLC that includes freshwater species as well, such as river otters (seriously otters and meerkats, the staples of every zoo, aren't there?).
Anyway, it's also amusing how we are so overloaded with African species but they haven't even scratched the surface. Rhinos as mentioned, servals, leopards, myriad primate species, and some highly endangered hoofstock like the addax or scimitar-horned oryx aren't in the game.
