Future plans for canopy breach suffocation situation?

Maybe we should all carry a limited supply of "canopy sealant spray" with us, just like that tyre foam stuff for punctures. However, like tyre foam pretty much kills the tyre, using said canopy sealant would mean more expensive proper repairs if you do make it to a safe dock...

Scoob.

I am not spraying things round in zero-g, especially expanding foam in front of my face. (However, if it leaves a bit of a residue when you clean it, that could explain some of the 'looking through vaseline' bloom and lens flare effects we currently get...) :D

Off topic, but not really new thread worthy:

I just got an Eagle and I've noticed that the canopy really ices up for seemingly random reasons.

Does anybody know why it ices, and if it affects anything?

This is a known bug with either the Eagle's cooling system or its engines' heat generation. It sometimes just starts bleeding off heat while all systems are still active.

The dock is supposed to be filled with air (hence the force field at the entrance).
I understood the current situation is a bug or oversight that will be addressed.
A forcefield is not exactly proof of air, but most likely it is supposed to be just that inside the station.

I think that in the case of a canopy breach the cmdr (predicated on being able to move around the ship) should be able to move out of the bridge into the cargo area and control the craft using an auxiliary console. This console would have limited functionality allowing the pilot to engage hyper drive, super cruise, and navigate to port and docking.

As a placeholder, the cmdr could simply be transported to this part of the ship, based on experiencing a full canopy breach.

I think this would be a great thing to do with the ship interiors when they are implemented.

Engaging super cruise or hyper drive with a broken canopy should result in the players death. (Auto escape pod if not iron man)
