Future updates

Apologies if this has been said already, but I couldn't find it.

I know Elite is coming to the PS4 last, PC got it first and then Xbox and now we PS4 users are getting it, my question is this
Will we have to wait for any future updates for them to go first to the PC then Xbox and then us or does everyone get them at the same time?

(not complaining, just wondering)

According to FDev all updates to ED will be simultaneous across all platforms, however there may be smaller updates here and there (bug fixes etc specific to eac platform).

There may be the occasional minor patch (for example 2.3.10a) that gets skipped entirely on consoles and rolled up into a subsequent patch (in this example 2.3.10b) simply because timing and effort would make the effort of dealing with manufacturer QA too big. At worst that would delay fixes for minor inconveniences like occasional graphical glitches or issues with a simple enough workaround.

As others have said, all future major updates will arrive at the same time on PlayStation 4, Xbox and PC. Sometimes smaller patches will arrive at different times on each platform but generally they're all in line with each other.

I believe that upgrades will be available at the same time to all platforms, but patches aimed at particular issues on a particular device will not.

I checked my ED version number (preorder download), and it's 1.00, however, when you go to "Options -> Check for updates", it tells me ED is up-to-date. Something don't seem right about this.

They said earlier they werent sure when it would push out. I was hoping they had a better idea by now.

More than likely with the way consoles are, that update is going through a certification process before its rolled out.

All *game* updates have to be pushed out to all platforms simultaneously, since all platforms share the same BGS. There will though (I'm sure) be more paid for future expansions, that you can opt in or out of... I imagine atmospheric landings, space walk, cities, etc. etc will all be optional paid for expansions, but will not affect the core game "Elite Dangerous" for players who do not want to engage in the new stuff. Much like Mac players can only play the "base" game and cannot upgrade to horizons / engineers because of hardware limitations on the graphics (sad but true - and hence why I'm moving to PS4).
