Fuzzy halos around certain stars on the galmap

If you go to the galmap and deselect every star type on the filter screen, you will end up with a blank map... mostly. But scattered throughout the sectors you will see small gray points. If you zoom in on one, and then re-select all of the star filters or go to "realistic" mode, you will always find a star in the middle of the gray halo.

I've run across half a dozen of these so far, but so far haven't noticed anything significant about them on the system map or while flying around in supercruise. I've seen small nova remnants that appear on the map the same way and of course the larger nebulae, but they all have a visual effect on the surrounding space.

The hazy gray halos, not so much. Does anyone know what they represent? Dust clouds? Accretion disks? Bus stops?

The "Fuzzy halos" are ejected material (light dust or gas) from either a very young or a collapsed star.

Most of them will be from a very young T Tauri-star. These stars are unscoopable and rarely worth looking at, with regards to interesting planets.

But, these halos might also indicate a companion black hole to the main star. These won't show up on the map, unless you select the star in question, so they can be a quick way to lead you to these.

In about 60-80% of the cases if I see an O star with a halo there's a black hole there. So I use it for that. It's a hint.
