I believe these are just for Tech Unlocks though, not for modifications. They totally sucked when they were needed for modifications.

The forums were becoming too positive, so they did a balance pass and brought back the part of engineers we all hated the most. So now I have to put away all my small ships and run around in a ship I don't enjoy flying, with an NPC pirate magnet in my cargo hold for as long as it takes the RNG to bless me with missions that hand out that garbage. Nice.
