G-force limit exceeded

I got this message while I was boosting and twisting away in my Vulture last night. I've never seen this before, is this new? How does it affect me or my ship?

Only a few ships can manage to pull enough G for it to happen. I know an Eagle can and possibly a Viper but I don't know of any others (well, Vulture now of course).

Current ships known to be able to pull G-force limit turns if upgraded right:
Sidewinder, Eagle, Viper, Vulture, Clipper.

All tested personally, I expect the FDL could do it if upgraded with minimum weight and max thrusters. Adder & sidewinder maybe too.

I'd personally appreciate it if they lowered the g force limit considerably, to make it more relevant in combat.

Cobra can also.

Same here. I thought it was cool when I read that it was in the game, but after not seeing it for so long I was convinced that it wasn't actually in the game until I finally saw it for myself. And it hasn't happened again since.

I've had the "redout" from doing negative G a few times. I have yet to see the blackout from positive G though.

I've had the screen start to red out on me a few times in my FDL but I haven't hit the limit. I didn't even know that was a thing until just now! I'll have to do some testing to see if I can when I get back from Wolf 406. :)

The whole G force limit is a bit too gimmicky in this game. Consider the fact that in a Cobra, from zero to max boost speed will give you roughly 23G :/

0 to 430 m/s in less than 2 secs

We must all be machines in the future :)

Most ships can perform maneuvers that will prompt a g-force limit exceeded message.

I've seen it in a Cobra, an empty T-6, and a Clipper, as well as all the dedicated combat vessels.

Radical genetic modification and near universal cybernetics are sure to be vastly easier than some of the technologies taken for granted in the Elite universe.

This is an interesting point. I would initially agree, but on further thought:

A) There is no need for the Star Trek style inertia dampers as the FSD method involves the ship riding inside a bubble moving faster than light, but the ship itself does not move. One assumes a similar situation for hyperspace jumps.

B) The Remlok suits may well be 'active' in the same way fighter pilot flight suits are, providing some G-force protection. Although they would obviously make benefit from technology available in 3300's.

I'm not talking about FSD, just normal space & boosting. Hey it's all fantasy & just a game, but honestly, no point trying to make rational excuses, maneuvers in these ships would kill anyone made of flesh and blood. G loading in these ships are beyond extreme..
