(G) = Gimble. (T) = ?

There are some even-numbered turret weapons; in this case the C4 Pulse Laser (T) is equivalent in mass to a C5/6 weapon and the C2 Multicannon (T) is equivalent to a C3/4 weapon.

yeah, turrets are no gimbals, they are just automated, expensive, weak and with poor auto aim guns and seems you can only equip 2 class lower turret, so in C4 HP goes C2 turret, but that needs a confirmation, the problem i see is that i have equipped T1 class turret in C2 class slot...if anyone can tell what Class Turret can be place on what class hardpoint it would be very helpful ;)

i think i saw even number turrets somewhere couple weeks ago but wasn't sure, now i am, thanks for pictures ;)

Gimbals add one to the class of weapon, turrets add two.
So on a class 4 hardpoint - you can fit a c4 Fixed, a c3 gimballed or a c2 turreted.

Since all hardpoints are even, all gimballed weapons are odd, and all turrets even.

My info came from a face-to-face with a dev, before standard beta; it's obviously out of date :D

yeah, that was actually David who insisted that T must be -2 classes compared to fixed and imagine my surprise when i see T Class 1 and that i can buy that into class 2 hardpoint, that confused me, so now i am not sure about T and their class relation with hardpoints, would be nice to get more info on that.

weight suggest C2 T->C4 HP and C4 T->C6 HP, but why then there is C1 T that can be fit into C2 HP...maybe that's some kind of leftover, in gamma we will see :)

but i equipped T1 turret on my viper!!!!!!! :)
i was just making screenshots of all weapons available at Chango Dock for my manual and saw turret class 1, was curious enough to try it and put into C2 on my ship, it worked - you see the gun in picture, it looks awfully similar to gimballed so maybe that's a G and not T in reality, but someone needs to take a picture of C1 gimballed Pulse laser to compare the looks ;)
 
Not much damage, but at least its getting in more hits than I would without them.
And they are a pretty good deterrant for all but the most persistent, especially for the larger ships where their increased number can make up for their shortcomings.

sadly that's not the case now as T are useless, i killed way too many anacondas in under 40 seconds while piloting my viper and they never ever managed to take out even 2 rings of my shields, missiles are only defense for bigger ships now :)
 
Ok... SO. I've found the C2 variants for beam weapons. Now I did find that only for class 2 can you find a class 1 turreted. For every other class you do need to be 2 classes away from the hard point.

So for beam lasers I found (Class 2 hard point)

C2 Beam laser
Weight 4t
Power 69
Cost 11,100

C1 Beam laser (G)
Weight 4t
Power 67
Cost 16,650

C1 Beam laser (T)
Weight 4t
Power 63
Cost 20,000

So it would seem they are not the same power of gimbaled if they have greater reach of gimbaled then I can see their use for large slow ships, but I wouldn't consider this for a fighter craft

( I think I may have figured out a bug in my travels gonna see if I can squash it) - Nope still crashed ( About half the time when I come out of supercruise in my anaconda it crashes)

i have only crashes when i try to enter SC or HJ from regular flight in middle of nowhere (after being interdicted or after visiting USS).

so if i understand you correctly:
C1T=C2
C2T=C4
C4T=C6
and so on? makes sense, but T1 did confuse me into believing that T same as G are 1- class ;)

Yes that's about the just of it... but that could very well change in the next patch :smilie:

( I thought the crashes were due to the heatsink launcher as everytime it crashed I was always missing one... thought they were connected somehow. So I removed them and it still crashed :( )

hmmm, now that you say, i never had a single crash since i sold my heat sinks... but i used to have like 3-4 every day...but you know that we see what we see and not where the truth lies, so maybe HS are completely unrelated :) i had full load of HS on my lakon type 9 and i rarely crashed, also i rarely visited USS and was interdicted, but those are only crashes i got ever in ED Sbeta and they always were when countdown was clocking in... ;)
 
Im only getting crashes since I had the turrets, and now I have a whole ship full of them i get crashes about 50% of the time while dropping out of FS.

Now I crash when entering FS??? Weird (Removed all turreted guns)
