G2 reverb, vive pro2, pimax crystal comparison in elite.

Today thanks to @BigBANGerZ I had the opportunity to test the headsets.
I already have a G2 so this is how saw the comparison.
1) the G2 reverb and pro 2 were almost the same. Colour wise clarity etc both suffering with screen door. The pro2's fov was better. But apart from that they seemed to be the same.
Now the pimax crystal..omg! Totally fab! Crystal clarity, vivid colours, no screen door at all.
Granted the cmdrs 4090 powering them helped enormously.
So l know exactly what hmd I'm getting.
No doubt at all. Pimax crystal.
Now the pimax 12k is out shortly. But tbh the crystal is more than adequate. The cobra3 engine of elite let the overall experience down. Pixilated etc. But the pimax did a great job of minimising it.
Totally awesome headset.

Pimax seems to send out a new marketing leaflet with offers to previous customers every other hour, since a few months ago, so maybe your benefactor there could tip you off, when a good one drops...

Kind of curious to hear what people make of ED wifi-ed to the Apple device, too, when the AVP fork of ALVR drops soon. :7

I'm a G2 user and thinking about next step, particularly in light of MS plans to depreciate WMR.

Well now pimax have, or about (the light is due out in May 24) to release the pimax light.
Now I'm not going to go into the tech about how it's not as good as the pimax crystal. But I will say they haven't dropped the visual aspect. Just that it's dedicated pcvr rather than wireless. No bulky battery no chip & 30% less weight.
The big difference is the price..
700 bucks US.!
That's half the cost of a standard pimax crystal.
So my question is..
Should l buy this headset to replace my reverb g2 ?
In fact every elite VR cmdr wants to know.
So techheads hiya! Let us know this is a viable cheaper alternative to play our beloved elite dangerous odyssey.
