G5 Thrusters - Maia shipyard is closed

Hey folks, if you're rushing to get thrusters to G5 on your fleet then be aware that Maia shipyard has gone so you wont be able to transfer to there.
Agricolas Ascent in
Pleiades Sector DL-Y d65 is still open for business and only 1 jump away from Maia and Palin.

Maia ship yard? I practically lived out there and don't remember a shipyard in Maia. Alcazars hope is the most stocked shipyard/outfitting in the area, 1 jump away.

Yeah, Maia never had a shipyard. Obsidian Orbital, for all that people seem to adore the place, was always decidedly sparse on services. Before the Aegis building spree, Alcazar's Hope, Blackmount Habitation, and Ceres Tarn was the spots if you needed to make any ship transfers near the nebula.

Still don't understand, there are a few ports for outfitting in Maia, and they have all been rubbish. Palins base is still there offering engineering

It doesn't matter if the outfitting is rubbish.

If it's there, you can ship modules to it.

Thats my point, there are lots of outfitting places in Maia to ship modules, so that can't be his problem, that leaves him thinking one of those had a good selection of thrusters to take to Palin, none of them ever did. Curious to know what he is on about, everything seems normal out there.

He says Maia shipyard, it doesn't make sense. Did the old Maia rescue ship have a shipyard? That left a long time ago.

tbh, didn't realise there wasn't a shipyard there in the first place - just flew into the station and each landing pad has the words Restricted Services (sic) on them and when going to station services there was no outfitting or shipyard.
Use my ASP for getting to places quick then call modules over as required and where modules are too big to fit in ship I call over a bigger ship - just like the rest of us I guess to some degree.

Obsidian Orbital is recovering from a thargoid attack. It never had a shipyard, only basic services, the station was part of a community goal a while back, never reached the correct tier for high level services.

If you wanna set up camp, Alcazars hope is one of the best places in the region.

Yeah was part of that CG way back. Just 2 ships left to get thrusters upgraded before 3.0 drops then off back out, however it does seem that a lot of the game is in this neck of the woods now and intrigues by these non human USSs. Just sneaked up in a thargoid sensor in a threadt level 6 USS - something started to scan (assuming it was that and nothing cloaked If that exists) and turned tail and ran. My ships should be at the station now so time to upgrade.

I use Alcazar's Hope in Merope or Ceres Tarn in HR1185 (if I feel like living dangerously) for all my ship needs.

I love Ceres Tarn. That's my home.

Found it by accident.. ok, I smacked my old Asp Explorer into the planet so hard I should have left a ravine. 0 shields, and 2% hull after impact. Fortunately, Ceres Tarn was just over the mountains from my point of impact, for all my much needed repairs. It looked so good I decided to stay.

Its a beautiful view from that base. First time I brought my Combat Conda there was quite a adventure.

Ceres Tarn is home to the Pleiades Nebula Detachment of the 351st AVW, hosting two cargo vessels supporting Operation IDA. Mostly for the view, and the soothing tones of the Imperial traffic controller there.
