Gaining Bountys in Anarchy Systems.. Wait What?

Went to Bunda to do some Powerplay for our Glorious Emperor (and steal some Cargo). Shot some Federals, left the nav beacon, had a 21k bounty on my Head. Uhm.... (Checks if its Anarchy again, yes it is!) What happened here?

The patch notes also said that Anarchies won't spawn authority vessels anymore, which is entirely untrue.

I really can't fathom why this issue is so hard to fix.

You can still get Powerplay bounties in Anarchy systems, but you needn't worry about them too much as NPC bounty hunters don't care about them, and getting them in even high sec systems won't alert the authorities. Only thing you have to worry aout now is NPC Powerplay defenders of the ruling power and players.

It's all detailed in the notes for the 3.0 C&P FAQ on the forums somewhere.

Will you incur PP bounties if you aren't pledged to PP?

I dunno guys,

ANARCHY is not total chaos. Anarchy has rules too, it just has no gouvernment that top downs rules and such.
Also, in an anarchy system people who kill system/station controlled faction members should still be hunted by them.
Surely killing soemone from another faction should not care those controlling it.

I agree and we could have a lengthy discussion about the philosophy and design of Anarchy/Criminal factions, but as it stands now Anarchy jurisdictions are supposed be free of cops, and free of consequences.

@OP: you are no supposed to receive bounties (at least regular bounties, I have no idea how the powerplay stuff works) in an anarchy jurisdiction. And the nav beacon would most certainly be in the jurisdiction of whatever unfettered faction controlled an anarchy system. But there have been bugs with anarchies for a good while now, if you can reproduce it report it.

In ED anarchy is a government type, it's just a government that isn't interested in maintaining the illusion of the rule of law.

And they are, that is what reputation is. Whenever you destroy a ship of a faction, you lose reputation with that faction regardless of jurisdiction. If that reputation dips down to hostile, that faction's members will attack you on sight. It's just something outside the framework of the bounty system.

My favorite is that for the longest time, I've been getting bounty vouchers issued to me by the local anarchy controlling faction for shooting down wanted members of the local anarchy controlling faction. Great! Pay me for shooting down your own manpower.
