Gaining influence?

Hi,

Wikipedia says:
To increase a faction's influence players should focus on performing the following tasks:

Completing missions for a faction,
Trading with faction owned stations or outposts,
Turning in bounty vouchers,[9]
Turning in combat bonds and,[10]
Selling exploration data,[11]

I did many missions for one of the factions, I had many messages influence went up, however, on the [status] >> [system factions] it says influence is 7.5 - the same as used to be before all that mission? What should I do?

It's should have updated by now, today's tick has now happened. You will have to log out to get it to refresh.
However, bgs is currently borked, so anything might have happened

Many thanks for a quick reply.

I could see now is 11.5% instead of 7.5%. If I keep coming, and this faction (Federation) will go from last place into first one, where is an Independent one - will be this system belong to Federation?

If the faction gain control of the star system, it will show as a Federation aligned system in the galaxy map, yes.

However, you are going to have to fight other factions on the way up. Each war/election lasts ten (eleven?) days - three days pending, and one week active. If you have three other factions between you and the controlling faction, you will have to fight them all. You're looking at two months' work. When you get there, you will have a good sense of satisfaction, but yeah - the BGS isn't an instant pleasure.

24 hours later I managed to move (11.5% to 14.3%) above 2 other factions (12.8%), now ex aequo with second place (12.8%). No messages about civil war so far, only an elections is pending. No.1 factions holds now 45.8%.
