I would be astonished if this hasn't been requested before!
Instead of relying on common knowledge databases out of game, would it be possible for any POI that has been mentioned on GALNET or used for a CG to be added to the Gal Map? Obvious examples, alien sites that have been mentioned in GALNET or maybe POIs that FD servers detect high throughput of traffic could be listed in the common knowledge section.
Obviously this should be filtered appropriately.
