Galaxy and System map issues

So I just got an Oculus and all is good, in fact it's even gooder than I thought it would be. It took a bit of setting up, but it was absolutely worth it.
Only thing is, trying to use/navigate the galaxy or system maps is frustrating in the extreme.
Does anybody have any suggestions or a fix for this?

Cheers in advance.

Oh, also is any body reading this heading to Seattle for the Frontier meet on 31st Aug?

Most people have issue with the map in VR. You just set up your flight stick to move the cursor around. I have an x52 and have main hat set for zoom and level up and down. Stick is of course forward/back/ rotate. Mine has a second hat that I use for menu navigate and select. And no the floating system text doesn't line up in VR. You get used to it.

You'll need to use your HOTAS or controller to navigate galaxy and system maps in VR, mouse doesn't do it... :) Set up whatever you use in the Galaxy Map part of Options > Controls and play around for a bit.

Have a browse of these threads to see if there's anything useful to you.

I've just started using Rift too, and it took me an hour or two (if that) to get used to not using the mouse, so I'm sure you won't find it too difficult.

OK. Iv'e assigned the cursor movement to assorted hat switches on my X52 pro. I still have to work out the kinks but at least it's workable, unlike the mouse. [yesnod]

Thanks for the help. o7
