Galaxy Map - all systems with a state of 'None'

Is it.. normal.. for every system in the gal-map to have a system state of 'None'..?

I find it hard to believe there isn't a civil war, lockdown, bust or any of the many other states anywhere. This is weirding me out. I'll relog in case the instance is bugged.

Edit: Actually, it's every system except those with a Thargoid specific state.

The galaxy is sort of set up to be neutral and to be poked by players. I think there are some random state occurrences but I don't think they're that common. Since player activity leveled off, I've noticed the galaxy is a lot more...staid. I think the goid distraction is also pulling players away from their usual shenanigans. This is the problem with making everything player focused.

Is it not every system that includes a faction which has the state of "none". Which I'm guessing would, actually apply to almost all systems.

Which would make sense actually because of you were in the mood for some CZs or pirate USSs, trying to find 2 factions at war or a faction in civil unrest where one wasn't the controlling faction would be near impossible.

I am not quite sure people understand what I have said; none of the usual states a system can be in (apart from the thargoid specific ones) show up in the galaxy map.

The attached is every single state turned on, except none. Only the Thargoid specific states appear. Some systems should show bust, boom, etc. It's just weird is all. I have jumped to a system that is genuinely in Civil Unrest, it's just the galaxy map doesn't show it.

I'll just assume it's a quirk.

And when I deselected 'None', and select every other state I end up with a big hole in the map. I just selected None to show how many stars appeared to have no state (almost all of them). Maybe it's just an instance thing.. whatever.

I've just taken these with state "None" deselected, for clarity...

Each star you see has a "State" active.

So a bit of a strange one your side, I think.

I'm fairly sure that the galaxy map has a local "backup" data set it uses if it can't contact the server, just to keep things moving. Of course, that one won't have things which change frequently, like states.

It used to be the case (and maybe still is) that certain properties of the backup were inherited from a snapshot taken in one of the 2.2 Beta releases. If this happens to you again, go over to the Colonia nebula, switch to Economy colouring, and see what the Desy system shows up as: it should be red for Extraction (you may need to zoom in to see it against the nebula background), but can rarely show as green for Agricultural. If it's green, your map probably isn't entirely up-to-date.

Thanks Ian.

This seems to have been the case; system were indeed in various states, it's just the map wasn't showing them, so yes, perhaps the game client wasn't able to access the relevant information.
