I'm running a three-display setup with a GTX 960 (yeah, old), with Nvidia's "surround" enabled, with bezel correction.
The "actual" resolution is 5760x1200, with bezel correction, its 5996x1200.
Normally, bezel correction is good, as things "behind the bezel" are simply not visible, so that objects spanning the displays look normal (just what it's supposed to do).
The problem is with the Galaxy Map; specifically it's menu system on the left; it's so far to the left that parts of the menu are obscured. The Nvidia setup allows specifying a keyboard shortcut for "bezel peek", which, effectively, drops back to the "native" resolution (5760x1200).
So, I bound a button on my X56 Rhino to that (pressing throttle mini-stick), and in the past, it worked fine. It was a little awkward to read the menus broken by the bezel between display 1 & 2, but at least I could see everything. Lately I've been using the Galaxy Map options more to find specific systems (e.g., having interstellar factors), but the bezel peek is no longer working, and it appears to be a problem with elite, not the display drivers et. al. When I try to toggle the peek, the map flashes for a moment (1/4 second?) where I can see everything, then instantly returns to "full resolution".
Of course I can go to the options and manually change the resolution to 5760x1200, return to the Galaxy Map, do my search or whatever, then go back and change the resolution back to 5996x1200, but of course that's a major PITA, and not really a solution.
This renders using any advanced map functions impossible. (e.g., even when I can "figure out" how to select types of systems; I cannot see which colors are which, for example. With enough messing around (e.g., select only one type, so those are the only systems highlighted), I can do a little.
I'm not sure when this stopped working, but it's been a while. It's just more annoying for me now because I'm trying to use the more advanced map features more often now.
I hope the old functionality can be restored. Alternatively, allowing the menu to be manually positioned, or having some pre-canned choices that position it more towards the middle (away from the bezel) could also work... Frontier, HELP.
