Galaxy Map - Apply Filter to Route doesn't work for Star Class

Anyone else noticed that Galaxy Map's 'Apply Filter to Route' option for Star Class doesn't work in Odyssey?

Go into the Galaxy Map and choose your KGBFOAM stars from the star class filter list. Now enable 'Apply Filter to Route'.

Does it work for you?

When I toggle it, my route does not change, even though it contains non-KGBFOAM stars. If I go back into the star class filter, I see that the option to 'Apply Filter to Route' has become deselected again.

I will test it, I know it didn't work if you selected a station or body inside a system in Horizon's, it would just turn off, is that's what is happening here or is it different?

Worked for me the other day when i had to update a route after realizing i had three T Tauris on my route.

Not sure if that was before or after the last update though. Might have been before.

There might be a state issue in there. Thinking back to it now, i think i had to uncheck and recheck an option for the "apply to route" to take. or that might have been another filter, i was in a rush at the time.

No - it's different. It doesn't work at all, even when selecting the primary star of the target system.

I haven't played for a while, and have only noticed this in Odyssey since Update 4 was released.

They did do some major updating of the galmap for this update, I have already come across 1 bug, the delete bookmark icon on the right ribbon bar doesn't always work for squadron bookmarks, this appears to be another.

You will have to go to the route options, select fastest or economic route and click recalculate route. Then it should work as intened, at least until you change things around again. Not the most transparent of changes.

No - it's definitely a bug.

Try it for yourself.

I just verified and the Star Class Filter works... BUT there's quite a few quirks when working with or modifying Star Classes and a route plot set.

  • Apply Filter to Route is de-selected anytime changes are made to Star Classes Filter
  • a previously selected Apply Filter to Route is not stored/not permanent when using any other Route Filter in the meantime and will likely be found de-selected by default
  • even changing Star Classes and manually checking Apply Filter to Route does not incur an automatic (smart) re-plot like in Horizons
  • "Recalculate Route" Button in the Settings is and remains greyed out despite having made several changes that would need the button to be usable and highlighted (indicating changes that require re-plotting to go into effect)
  • a manual clearing of Route and manual re-plotting is required for any changes to go into effect

In short, it works - but needs several workarounds and micromanaging.
Mostly involving making sure "Apply Filter to Route" is still active and manually clearing/re-plotting route often.

^^ This is how I've been doing it. It doesn't automatically recalculate the route. But it works if you manually clear and re-plot.
that doesn’t work for me.

nothing I do permanently enables ‘Apply Filter to Route’. It is always deselected every time I view the star class filter.

There are some weirdnesses though. It appears it may ignore a filter for the most recently changed, if it can't plot a route applying all? Or its only applying the last modified filter.
