Galaxy Map - clear button?

Okay, I call myself searching the forum and if this has been covered already, I have missed it.

While using the Galaxy Map, after selecting a target system and examining various routes, is there a way to clear your selections and start again, without having to completely exit the map and come back? Also, after you have your route plotted, does anyone know if there is a way to show only the system names that is on your route? For example ff you are looking at a 85ly route and zoom out, the other system names come into play and it is hard to tell which ones are actually part of your route and which ones are simply close by. I know in options you can turn off everything and select only navigation markers, then mouse over the points, but I was wondering if all the system names only along your route can be shown at same time.

The 'home' key will take the camera back to your current location, if that's what you mean?

Not really. When clicking on systems, while determinng your route, for possible small detours, etc, things can get confusing, (at least for me anyways), and I would like to be able to clear the navigation marker on selected system without having to highlight another one.

Would be nice if you could for example, right click on a system, then have an option to add that to your route, with path highlighted in a slightly different colour than present.
