Galaxy Map Fastest Routes not showing [Bug]

Is it just me or has the fastest route stopped working in 1.0.0.1?

If I swap between fastest/economical routes on the galaxy map nothing happens, yesterday I could plan routes with either.

Even the connection/jump lines don't redraw so I'm guessing that the 'Fastest' route is bugged?

Tried logging in and out Solo/Open doesn't make any difference, it seems we are stuck with 'economical routes' only.

ok i had this bug

the only thing that fixed it was a complete uninstall including the user/appdata/local frontier files then reinstall and it works great again

Thanks Metamartian, it worked for me too previously and my map always opens showing some trade routes so it must be a bug with my save/install.

Glad it isn't affecting anyone else thought as its pretty annoying and stopping me from planning proper routes!

Thanks malicious1 - I figured that might be the case

To be honest I do not use the in game tools to plan routes, I use the external 3rd party tools.

It was the custom.misc file in the end, it had a bunch of extra 'map options' in the XML - this messes with the map and bugs it out!

Since release when changing from fastest route to the other, I always have to click the route planner button again. Doesnt seem to recalc on its own on the fly.

Easy workaround until they sort it out.
Kinda annoying though, didnt realised it worked differently before either...

thats not the bug mate........when you have it it doesnt matter reclicking or chaging the route boxs it shows the crappeist route always

and guess what 3 days after fixing it with reinstall i have it again

FRONTIER fix this crap

To work around the problem until it is really fixed, delete (or, to be on the safe side, rename) the "Custom.misc" (and maybe also ".misc") from your "AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Player" directory.

Ooerr didnt know there was this option. Just starting to use the route planner and it seems to use a really crazy route with loads of small jumps and go all over the place... How do i change this? Tell me more...

nods yeah i did the re install route have you tried just deleting the custom.misc?

Thank you very much. I have been stuck with the economical routes since launch. Removing the custom.misc file fixed it for me.

Takes a very long time for my farther routes to start to appear. I have to wait approx' 30min for the systems that are 120+ away from me. It's ridiculous, I'm forced to go as far as my routes will allow me

I deleted custom.misc, but that doesn't seem to have fixed it.

Close game, delete custom.misc, reopen game. It will work until next restart :( then you have to do it again. The game creates a new custom.misc on exit, so it must be closed when you delete it.

You can only route to a maximum of 100.. so you're going to be waiting a lot more than 30 mins for 120 xD

I wonder why some people have to delete files?

The routing calcs carry on. So it takes, say, 2 seconds to calc routes <20ly. 60 seconds for <80ly, 90 seconds for <100ly, maybe 10 minutes for 120ly etc. But I get bored, so I've never left it more than a couple of minutes.
