Galaxy Map Filters: Visited / Unvisited Systems

Just like the thread title sais - we need Galaxy Map Filters for visited and/or unvisited Systems.

This would be a huge help for exploration but also in general - expanding your own bubble of known systems outwards

Even better yet - let us bookmark Systems in the Galaxy Map

and while you're at it have a look at your System Search - when I type "Frey" the first hit is "FreyR" and the second one is "Frey" surely this is not the way it should work ... clicking search a third time comes up with something completly unrelated like "HIP 1234XYZ" and clicking it 20 times never gets you back to "Frey"

Now this was actually more than one suggestion but once I start thinking, those thoughts just keep coming - can't help it

Agreed. Just paint a coloured foggy bubbly around any/all stars you've been to so you can easily see all the regions you've been to...

And you want this to be possible for every single player and potentially for all 400 billion star systems? That is a lot of meta data the servers need to manage (and FD find space for).

An individual players visited system list can be instanced client-side, saving server resources.

Those place that have been visited enough by other pilots to count as explored, an incrememtal counter or a simple yes/no variable for each system wouldn't add much considering just how much data there must already be for each of the ~4,000,000,000 systems.

Yes and I don't see how this could be any more Problem than filtering 400 billion stars for their allegiance or economy + this could actually be stored clientside because there is no need for you to see what I visited before or did not visit before - only downside to this I can see would be that you could actually lose your list of visited systems on reinstall or patch

I am not asking to see if a system was ever explored by anybody - just if I have been to a system before

It could be as easy as a single flag in system data: Visited: true/false

Actually game server already keep information about all visited by every player systems. Systems visited in statistic. And i believe it's not just a +1 counter, because it count unique systems visited.

Well if that is actually the case - even better - then all that is needed is to display the data that is already collected and stored

Your machine/their serve already knows something akin to this? It already knows if you have system data, and your current standing etc etc etc...

To go further there can be a some galaxy map mode, that totally hide not visited systems except those which in jump range from current location)

I am not so sure about this one because once you hit 20ly+ Jumprange pretty much every System is in range - it is just a question of how many jumps and how often one needs to refuel on the way

Unless you meen accesible with a single jump
