Galaxy map navigation options need some work....

So, I have mostly been aimlessly going from system to system, finding good places to bounty hunt and buy upgrades.

Today, for the first time I decided that I would go to a specific system, 137lys from where I was. I went into the galaxy map, entered the name of the system, set it as my target and high-lighted 'show fastest route'.

OK, great! I make my first jump. Hmmm...now what? Back into galaxy map...All previous input erased from navigation panel....Why? Why am I being made to type the same system in repeatedly and re-set it as my destination, then reorient myself on the map?

Why can't I set my destination system, have the navigation panel save it (until I change it or arrive at my destination system) and then have the navigation on my ship automatically suggest/high-light the next systems en-route in my hud (or even just put them at the top of my navigation UI in bold), without me having to even bring up the galaxy map again?

Getting from A-B shouldn't be such an exercise in frustration.

Not it is in there, you can hit plot route, however it will take some time for your nav computer to plot routes that far out as it has to calculate every single jump you can take in an ever expanding circle around your starting point. Also you might just not have enough jump distance to get to some places.

I think what happened is you clicked show fastest rout after you chose your destination. Changing the route mode forces the map to recalculate the possible jumps from scratch. So choose your rout mode, then select your destination.
