Galaxy Map option to make visited systems visible also when zoomed out. Show traces on gal map...

Recently I set out on a longer exploration trip and I'm out further than I was ever before. What I really miss when exploring is a view in the gal map where I can see my visited systems also when zoomed out. I know there's an option now to show visited / unvisited systems by colour but the systems are only visible when zoomed in. I think it would really be an additional incentive to go on extensive trips if you were able to see your traces afterwards.
I know there are 3rd party tools like the ED toolbox but unfortunately they're only able to show visited systems if Verbose Logging was on. I only turned on Verbose Logging when I got aware of that and of course I forgot to turn it on again after an update had it reset so only a fraction of my visits is shown. Besides I'd much prefer to have such (in my opinion) essential functionality in-game. I only have basic understanding regarding programming but I guess as Elite knows which systems I've already visited it shouldn't be too much of an issue. I guess it would only require the dots marking the systems not to scale with distance but to stay the same size regardless of the zoom-factor. The colour the visited systems are shown in could also change with the number of visits to make it a heat map. Many of you will know cmdr Biobob's Exploaration Heatmap Timelapse (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ap-timelapse-showing-ED-exploration-over-time). It's a perfect example of how this could look like when zoomed out, just for one cmdr only and it wouldn't have to be a timelapse, of course. I guess, while many cmdrs' travel map would be a big blob in the bubble, other cmdrs would have amazing screenshots to share...

may have been an unfavourable time for my post, therefore I allow myself one bump (and one bump only, no spamming intended...). Can't imagine I'm the only one to miss that feature...

Oh, completely forgot. This overview of a cmdr's visited systems would be even more explorer-friendly if it could also be filtered for his first discoveries...

You actually can filter by visited and unvisited stars on the in game map without any third party tools, I use it often in the black.

On "Map" mode, choose by color, near the end of the list is "visited". You can then choose to color visited (blue) and unvisited (red) stars. I'm drawing a blank at the moment, but I do belive you also have the option to have it add this to the plotter much like you can by star type (though not at the same time as they are both on the same option set).

I do agree that having a list or something of your own first discovered by could be neat.

Hi and thanks but as I wrote above you can only see a fraction of your visited systems at a time as you have to be zoomed in on them.
What I'm asking for is the ability to see where you've been in the galaxy in one glance i.e. in the zoomed out galaxy map.

I too would like the ability to see visited systems more easily when zoomed out. It would give a much greater appreciation of one's travels. I use a few bookmarks currently but that's not ideal.

Visited stars only work to a point. If you had to do a full factory reset on XBOX or if the local file is lost (corrupted etc) then those visited stars will no longer show as blue.
I too can't see why it is such an issue for Frontier to correct this problem, a simple sync of the local file will fix the problem.
They expect us to pay for the next update in the game - but while there is an issue with visited stars, there is NO WAY I will pay for anything in the game!

Good luck in getting any changes - I have been complaining for months! More than 10K visited stars (with my name on it) are now RED - and I too have visited stars checked in the map. It should be showing as BLUE. Get it fixed Frontier.

It's a good idea.

Even better would be a general-purpose "show all stars with this filter when zoomed out" facility. It would then be the user's responsibility to pick something rare enough not to swamp the galmap.

Even better if we could combine filters.
