Galaxy Map Settings

Thank you to everyone that commented on my previous thread - I decided to get the Rift! It is amazing (although my first trip planetside left me wanting to vomit!!!)

The only issue I have is using the Galaxy and system Maps, navigating them and selecting planets or menu items.

I'm using a T-Flight Hotas as well.

Does anyone have any screen shots of the Galaxy Map Controls they can share so I can once again get from A to Z via B etc.

Many thanks in anticipation

I use an x52, but i think the concept of navigation would be the same.
Yoke, Yaw and tilt are all the same, thrust controls navigate the movement of the focus spot, sensor zoom in and out are map zoom in and out. target button = select, with pip assignment = sub-menu left/right navigation selection for a chosen target.

..I that sounds a lot more complicated than it should be,, sry.

Wait until you drive over a 2 km deep cliff in an SRV by accident :D...

I use a Thrustmaster Warthog. I have mapped the three hats on the stick to navigate the map. One hat is for moving on Z and X axis. The second one is for the Y axis and zooming. The third hat controls pitch and yaw. The left hand rests on the left Cougar MFD which has menu navigation mapped to it. This way, my right thumb controls the full map navigation, while the left hand controls menu navigation and selection. No finger acrobatics neccessary.
What is missing now, is a virtual keyboard, that i can look at to point at the letter and press menue select to tap the key. Would help a lot.

I use the keyboard, yes even with a rift. I can navigate very quicky with one hand.

WASD - as you'd expect
QE to rotate left and right
RF up and down
TG to change the angle
ZX to zoom in and out

I managed to connect remotely to my PC, so, here it is

And left menu is controlled by Rudder:

and this small 4way joy on the left next to L1

This is not necessary to setup, it is already working, when you do not use within galaxy map those keys for something else.
