Just a random idea I had the other day.
While chatting to one of my friends about a good place to bounty hunt, I wanted to tell him about a procedural names system, 'Col 285 Sector blah-blah-blah'.
And that's when the idea came to.
I couldn't type the name of the system, because I wasn't in it, and couldn't remember it.
So it would have been handy to share that system with that CMDR.
So I am actually suggesting two separate ideas;
Copy System Name To Clipboard
Self explanatory. Have an icon on the system map to copy the system(or object) name. Copy it, paste it in the text field. But that doesn't really help the other CMDR, because they can't copy their text field to the system map.
So, idea 2.
Share Systems/Planets/Stations
Only available for friends. The idea is, to have a new "share" icon for all objects on the map, and you select this, and then select any friends currently online from the list, and send it.
They then receive a direct message (or a 'mission critical message' with the ability to accept or decline?), saying they've received a temporary navigational boomark, and in the galaxy map, they have a green bookmark icon, for the relevant object.
These only last until you log off, but you can permanently bookmark them.
