Galaxy Map - snap onto a planet

Voice attack all working - thanks for all the replies the other day.

I have setup the galaxy map to use the joystick and can navigate around with no issues, the one thing I have not worked out is how to actually select / highlight a planet to plot a route to. (I have grid view selected)

Any advice on what I'm missing

Thanks as always

What got me at first was needing to tilt the map a little when you first open it up so you can see the markers that line up to the planets.

If you cant see the the blue circle reticle then zoom your map out, or tilt it. Because in VR it may not be immediately in front of your face when you enter the map.

The galaxy map is certainly a strange experience in VR... Without VR, I'd quite often use the mouse to control the UI and select systems. This is impossible in VR as the mouse pointer goes 3D, and I've no idea where it actually points. It may sometimes activate a menu item, but only if I have managed to get it onto the menu (which seems almost impossible). I've always used a HOTAS, and it seems that by default the hats are overridden in the galaxy map, which means that my UI control was limited (could not move tabs). I've re-assigned buttons to get around this, so can now navigate the UI using the keyboard. Selecting systems still seems dubious, though, and more often than not I just search for the system by name.

To grab planets/stations/moons I center them then zoom in to make them as large as possible. Makes it easier. If you don't get an indicator, move your head left and right slightly. It will work eventually.
