Galaxy map star glow? Can FDEV confirm?

Does ANYONE know what the white glow is around some stars on the galactic map is? At first I thought it might be to do with O-class stars as I noticed it around them - but then I saw some T-Tauri, and then other classes of stars with it.





If you filter out all star types - the glows are still there as white fuzzy patches. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to them??

They tend to be the more luminous stars, planetary nebulae and black holes.

I think they're to give a sense of movement when you pan across the map.
