Last night, I was playing in VR. I realized the "snap-to" of the blue target circle range in Galaxy Map had been expanded so it automatically homed in onto a target star from a further distance. Makes locking onto a target system a lot easier. Thanks for that.
Also, if you plot a course to a distant station in another system, then go to the side panel and select a local station or object, the original plot stays in memory. I'm not 100% sure if this is a 2.2 thing, but it is welcome when a USS comes along and you want to lock on and drop into it. Plus, it gives you an emergency hi-wake jump in case of ambush.
The info side panel in the System Map is hard to read when in VR though. You have to keep the station/planet you want info on in your center of view to display the info side bar, while reading the info out of the corner of your eye. Quite difficult to do. If you move your head to read the text better, it disappears because the station / planet loses focus.
Asteroid fields and station icons look in System Map flat and could use a bit of work.
I should say that when playing on a monitor, the above issues are almost inconsequential. You only notice them when in a HMD.
In conclusion, it is getting better by degrees, but we're not quite there yet. Have you noticed any other issues with Galaxy or System Maps?
