So here's my problem. I'm watching the Galcop video from the live stream (GREAT video, btw!) My only problem with it is that I take offense to Galcop claiming ownership of the new bubble. The entire reason I as well as many other commanders are out there right now is because it's an independent enterprise, not some player-group run project.

Dunno either, but they sure as hell didn't read the game's manual.
I was seriously asking as I don't follow any of the forum/reddit drama and I don't play in group or open so I have no interacting with groups or other players.
Here's a thought: how about making an "Independant Bubblers" faction? Anyone who likes group gaming could then join it, while not being beholden to one of the "Old Bubble" groups, and those who want to stay away from player groups would know that at least the closest one is made of those who care about the new bubble?
Yeah, lets get all the independent pilots together and then we can all be independent together! lol I don't think that's how that works...

Don't get me wrong, there are lots of player groups out there doing all kinds of awesome work in the community goals, including GalCop, but ultimately at the end of the day, this ambitious project belongs to all of us! You can't claim ownership of any part of Colonia (at this point, anyway), which is the biggest lure to not just me, but many many more commanders that want to start over!
I would be most grateful if someone could post here an up-to-date list of the player groups that continue to be part of this coalition.

Galcop should never have been a supported player faction as its an actual thing in ED lore (they run the system security at stations). Whats next, someone starting a player group called INRA?
it seems to work for the Alliance of Independant Systems . . . Maybe it should be called the Bubble Alliance Independants, for those who wish to say BAI to the old bubble ;-)

They got around that nicely, even in new Galcop/Diamond Frogs lore, they've appropriated the name. They're basically like Elite's version of the current thing that calls itself Atari.

I know a lot of what we are is hazy, and has led to a lot of hurtful and not terribly constructive things said about us! That's okay though! Skepticism is good.
But to maybe help clear up confusion, we'll be working a GalCop megathread full of useful answers such as "Why are you butchering lore?" (Actually, we went directly to the guy who wrote the lore for GalCop and asked for his help), "You guys aren't legit you don't even a faction in the game" (Because "GalCop" is ten separate factions, there is no "GalCop" faction... yet.) and "you guys suck at pvp!!" ([citation needed])
The Megathread will go up after we open up formalize perks for current and future GalCop supporters and even the process to apply for membership!
So stay tuned, and remember! GalCop can be your GalPal... you just need to believe!
