Galmap causing CTDs?

Am I the only one who's suffering from this?

It's getting to the point where I actively avoid using the galmap unless I have to 'cos it causes a CTD roughly 1 in 5 times I use it.

Been happening since 3.0 dropped.
Bug reported a week or so ago.

No, it's not just you...

Happens to me the first time I open the galaxy map after restarting the computer and then starting Elite from the launcher. After that it is fine. (I should note that I spent a few days, perhaps a week out of the bubble, exploring, and it didn't happen at all.)

I had thought it was each time I re-launched the launcher, but I'm pretty sure now it's each time the computer restarts.

I've had CTD with both the system map and galmap since 2.4 - and note that I took a break from ED before that so I missed 2.2 & 2.3 entirely, so maybe it's been happening longer.

But it is not that often for me - maybe 1 in 100 times I do it, and it seems to happen more often when I try to open the system map after jumping into a system; I haven't opened a bug report since ED's crash utility allows me to comment and send in the report. I do that every time it happens.

It has happened to me once. I'm also getting some occasional random weird noises kind of like a mic being plugged in accompanied with a stutter.
