GALNET - 01 DEC 3306 - Lakon Spaceways Rejects Core Dynamics Bid

Mate... the Birthright Wars were over 500 years ago.

But it’s ok... WE MUST NEVER FORGIVE SPAIN for the Spanish Inquisition! Curse them all! #NeverForget! 🤣
Mate, it was over a millennium ago that the Duval expedition left to found what is now the empire, and stood against the Federation, and also a millennium ago that Henson remodelled the Republic to the Empire yet still the Feds and Marlinists assault our citizens and erode our sovereignty...

"...all available options", huh? If my memory serves me right the last time someone rejected something a Federal Corporation wanted it resulted in the Birthright Wars.
[...]

You had to go back 700 years for that? For the Empire it would just be one week. :p

Oh, it has been used quite a lot in Mandh during the last week 😁

while others accuse Ms Landseer of focusing exclusively on Alliance contracts.”
Yeah that's it, set it up to take away the only thing the Alliance have in the game.

I think Sirius Corporation did that first, as to a lesser extent did Core Dynamics and Faulcon De Lacey, by selling fuel/ships to both sides of the original Federation/Empire war.

Should I think about buying any Lakon ships sooner than later? I do not have a T9 or a Chieftain. Money is tight so those ships were not on the soon(tm) list, but if Core D or the Feds take Lakon over via hostile $$$ or seizing the mfg plants by military force, that would not be good for future ship purchases.

If elite had decent market force mechanics, I'd buy 500 T9's to manipulate the market, if the Fednex do take over Lakon, I'd see scarcity drive up T9 Prices and profit by selling them into the market. But sadly Elite doesn't have such economics so you can't profit from ship sales, you always lose 10% of purchase price.

That being said, if Elite had the economic complexity outlined above, I'd have bought a hundred cutters at a LYR system during the discount period arising from Crown Prince Harald's funeral. Come to think of it, if the ship market was that dynanic, I could have made a mint just ferrying ships from LYR territory to elsewhere in the bubble.
